Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum

At Holy Trinity our Early Years Department consists of Nursery and Reception age children who learn in a both an indoor and outdoor environment specifically created to deliver the Early Years curriculum.

Learning is centred around opportunities for play and is child led. The curriculum is delivered through the prime areas of PSED (Personal, Social, Emotional development) Communication and Language and Physical development.

Specific focus areas include Maths, Literacy, Expressive Arts and Design and Understanding of the world.

The Foundation Stage monitors pupil progress and supports the transition of pupils from entry to Key Stage One.

Key learning in this department includes phonics, reading, mark making, developing fine and gross motor skills, counting and early ICT skills.
